These simple processes can be different depending on the following conditions:
- Your device is New in Box (NiB)
- The TrustHab Installer Page, which is accessible from the Main Menu, is suited to perform these initial pairings and presents the user at the appropriate point in the process with illustrations as to how to pair a NiB device.
NOTE: For new devices, the absence of a Z-Wave NodeId is typically always the default case, although some devices may have been previously paired by a consumer and returned only to be repackaged by the vendor. In these situations where a NiB device will not pair:
It is recommended that you reset your device as per manufacturer instructions. Find your specific Device in this manual and perform the manufacturer reset process, then perform the inclusion process from the Installer Page but follow the ‘Not New in Box’ specifically for your device which is listed elsewhere in this document. •Your device is already unpackaged.
Since you may not know the status of the device (whether it has been previously paired or is currently unpaired), it is best (and easiest) to simply reset your device beforehand which will purge the device of any previous pairing information and allow it to be paired once again.
To address this situation and remove any doubt of the status of your device and the device entry in TrustHab, it is recommended to perform the following step: Reset your device as per manufacturer instructions. Find your specific Device in this manual and perform the manufacturer ‘reset’ process. NOTE: If your device required some configuration data to control the hardware associated with it (e.g. Thermostat requires HVAC configuration setup information), be sure to reenter the configuration data after the reset to ensure proper functioning of the overall system.
